Traced back to the British colonial era in India, “toddy” comes from the Hindi word “taddy,” to mean “beverage made from fermented palm sap.” By 1786, toddy was officially written down and defined as “a beverage made of alcoholic liquor with hot water, sugar, and spices.”

By the mid-19th century, the hot toddy had secured its place as a household staple. Whether it’s the cure-all for cold season ailments, a warm drink on a cold night, or simply an accessory to a good book, our Hot Rum Toddy is a classic that stands the test of time.
